Parker: Wenger should apologise to Shawcross

Reading most of Parkers articles in the last few months, none more that the last one entitled WENGER SHOULD APOLOGISE TO SHAWCROSS as forced me to reach the conclusion his write-ups are baised and really distorted. What parent inspite of their child’s hyper activity will say it’s just kids playing if their kids keep coming home with bruises after playing with the neighours kid.

What is Parkers definition of over reaction? I must say that Stokes game on saturday did not have many bad tackles but then the tackle on Ramsey was a really bad one and Shawcross must be allowed to learn this early in his footballing career how undesirable it his.

For Parker to have suggested it was not wortha send off, shows how little he knows about the rules of football. There is a clear line between committed play and dangerous play.

When Chelsea and Man. United came to the Emirates and won those were committed performances because they knew they could win. For large parts of that game Stoke played what i would call committed football like they always do they are not know to just kick there opponets of the pitch with the aim of achieving a result. The resultant impact and twist led to this horrendous inury that could be career ending where it to be an older player.Untill hist happens to Man. United, someone gets a broken spine or someone is killed people like Parker will continue to encourage dangerous play in the name of committed football. Parker should take a step back and make reasonable and intelligent contributions through his articles.

Wenger was right, one of his kids just got hurt because he put him out there. He got a conscience unlike some. Wenger never said Shawcross was malicious or that the Stoke Manage sent his players out to hurt his players. I thought he had the right to to be worried that every season one player suffers such terrible injuries. Just like every manager must have felt if they found themselves in thesame situation. We are not talking damaged lligaments here or torn muscles, we talking broken bones (this is dangerous). Parker’s contribution on Eurosport.com was not only unfair but also disrespectfull.

To suggest that breaking of bones like Arsenal have suffered in the last 3 seasons is normal and part of the game shows how distorted and daft his opinion was. Wenger apologise to Shawcross, if Rooney’s foot is broken in a dangerous tackle like that i wait to see Sir Alex blow the culprit a kiss or the Chelsea manager give a pat on the back to any player that suceeds to break Lampard’s leg. Believing the only way to defeat Arsenal is to kick fellow players about till they sustain broken bones is a good strategy is in my opinion crude and tackless.

Let me know in the last 10 years which team’s player suffered such cripling injuries in recent history home and abroad. That wil be the judge of Wengers reaction not judge Parker. If Arsene needs to go for bigger players is another topic for another day but Parker must apologise to Mr. Wenger for tryying to profit from his genuinely felt emotional pain. I think Parker should have stuck with his usual praise singing and commented on the Carling cup finals and how brilliant a decision it was for the ref. not to send Vidic off on Sunday.
